Ford F-150 Lightning SuperTruck tackles the Nurburgring in 6 min 43 seconds
A Ford F-150 just beat the time set by the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X at the Nurburgring. It may sound like an impossible feat, but not for the Ford F-150 Lightning SuperTruck.
The Ford F-150 Lightning SuperTruck completed a lap of the ‘Green Hell’ in 6 min 43.482 seconds – almost a second quicker than the Corvette ZR1X.
Behind the wheel of the wild electric truck was French racing driver Romain Dumas, who also has a Pikes Peak record to his name. Besides, Dumas has also piloted the Ford SuperVan 4.2, setting a blisteringly quick lap time at the ‘Ring.
Of course, the F-150 Lightning SuperTruck is not street legal and cannot be compared to the Corvette. It uses four electric motors producing a combined output of 2200 hp, which is 600 hp more than the Pikes Peak version.
The onboard video shared by Ford is proof of just how capable this machine is.
