Floyd Mayweather paid $1.2 million for a Maybach G650; Now he is suing the dealer
In July, Floyd Mayweather Jr. purchased a few cars from a Las Vegas dealership, including a Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet. The retired boxer claims to have paid $1.2 million for it. Now, he is suing the dealer for deceptive trade practices and misrepresentation.
Mayweather argues that the G650 cost the dealer just $728,000, which means it made nearly half a million dollars in profit. He was under the impression that the dealer had paid $1.1 million for the truck, a margin he was okay with.
Mayweather had also purchased a Ferrari F8 Spider for $480,000, a Porsche 911 GT3 for $285,000 and a McLaren Artura for $285,000 from the same dealership. As per reports, he took these cars back to the dealership and also wanted to return the Maybach G650. However, the dealer allegedly wouldn’t take it back.
Mayweather told TMZ that the car he was sold was in lawsuits, and some of its parts had been changed. Despite this, the dealer charged him $1.2 million.
The dealership, in its response, said that the lawsuit was “laughable and dead on arrival”.
