Ferrari F80 stops from 124 mph in less than 100 meters
The Ferrari F80, like its predecessors, packs the latest technologies developed over decades. While it can achieve breakneck speeds within seconds, thanks to its hybrid powertrain and all-wheel drive, the F80 is also equipped with a top-tier braking system.
The Ferrari F80 uses motorsport-derived brake discs that are coated with silicon carbide for better thermal management. These rotors are said to offer consistent performance under extreme conditions. Combining this with aerodynamics and vertical downforce, the F80 can stop just as quickly as it accelerates.
According to Ferrari, the F80 is capable of decelerating from 62 mph to a standstill in just 28 meters and from 124 mph to 0 in 98 meters.
Ferrari has shared a video showcasing the braking technology that makes the F80 truly a racecar for the road.
The F80 uses a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that produces 900 hp. The internal combustion engine is paired with an electric front axle and an F1-derived MGU-K, which adds another 300 hp, taking the total output to 1200 hp.
Ferrari claims a 0-62 mph time of 2.15 seconds. 0-124 mph comes up in 5.75 seconds, and it can reach a top speed of 217 mph.
