Ex-Aston Martin designer envisions a Vanquish Shooting Brake; Should he build it?
The former Aston Martin and Jaguar designer Ian Callum has delivered yet another showstopper – Vanquish 25 Shooting Brake. Currently, it’s only a concept, but Callum Designs will build it if anyone’s interested.
The 2001 Aston Vanquish is one of the best-sounding V12 GTs ever made and looks downright gorgeous, as well. In fact, it was also designed by Ian Callum.
The Vanquish 25 Shooting Brake retains the same sleek profile, except for a slightly modified roofline, transforming the coupe into a hatchback.
Under the bonnet is the same 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine. However, it has been upgraded with a carbon fibre intake, new camshafts and revised engine mapping, resulting in a performance boost from 520 hp to 580 hp. Customers will be able to choose between a manual and an automatic transmission.
Callum Designs has also upgraded the suspension. It features Bilstein dampers, stiffer anti-roll bars, a lower ride height and a wider track. It has carbon ceramic brakes all around and rides on 20-inch wheels.
Callum Designs hasn’t announced the pricing yet. But it would be safe to assume that the Vanquish 25 Shooting Brake will cost well over $750,000.
