Bugatti Bolide makes dynamic debut at 24 Hours of Le Mans
The Bugatti Bolide made its dynamic debut at Le Mans this weekend. It couldn’t have been a better occasion as it was the 100th anniversary of the world’s greatest 24-hour race.
The Bolide is Bugatti’s idea of a no holds barred endurance race car. It will accelerate from 0-62 mph in 2.17 seconds and will complete the 0-500-0 run in just 33.62 seconds. Bugatti has also run simulations at the Circuit de la Sarthe at Le Mans, completing a lap in just 3 min 07.1 seconds.
Powering the Bolide is an 8.0-liter W16 engine that generates 1825 hp and 1475 lb-ft of torque. The car weighs just 1450 kg (dry), which gives it a power-to-weight ratio of more than 1100 hp per tonne.
Only 40 examples of the Bugatti Bolide will be produced, each with a price tag of $4 million. The first deliveries of the Bolide are scheduled for 2024.
